For the first time in 30 years, the American Academy of Pediatrics has published its own immunization schedule that differs from the CDC revised version.
The AAP continues to recommend vaccines for all 18 diseases on the childhood schedule, supported by 12 major medical organizations.
The CDC revised its schedule removing some previously recommended vaccines. The AAP maintained all 18, saying the evidence still supports them.
The American Academy of Family Physicians, ACOG, and 9 other major medical groups endorse the full schedule.
The HPV vaccine remains on the AAP schedule starting at age 9-12. It prevents six types of cancer.
If your child missed doses, your pediatrician can create a catch-up plan within a few visits.
